Health Disparities and Equity

Health disparities refer to differences in health outcomes between groups. These differences can be influenced by socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or geographic location. Achieving health equity means ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to attain their highest level of health. This requires addressing the social determinants of health, promoting access to quality healthcare, and eliminating barriers to health services. By focusing on these factors, we can reduce disparities and achieve equitable health outcomes for all individuals and communities, regardless of their background or circumstances.
